Narrow streets, garden levels and water on the ground
Many Hoboken homes have a garden-level entry below the stoop, with steps going down to a small area that collects leaves, water and grime. Low spots are damp, and moss or algae grows on the shaded walls. Cleaning these areas means protecting basement doors and drains from runoff.
The city has dealt with flooding in the past, and after heavy storms silt and debris can settle on sidewalks, stairs and courtyards. A wash can remove that residue, though we also look for lasting damage such as lifted pavers. Street cleaning schedules and parking rules limit when a vehicle can stay at the curb, so we plan arrival and unloading carefully.
